War Games
War Games
is a movie that I really wanted to see but did not have the time to sit down
and see it, or I really just forgot about it existence, but that does not mean
I was not interested. Now that I had the opportunity to see it, I really like a
lot, mostly for the references to videogames or more likely to games in
general, because as the movie had a real focus that was “peace”, more with his
final lesson that the only way to win a war is by not doing anything, and that
means to really not start a war at all, because that can translate to mostly
any game, like in chess or checkers, the “perfect game” of that games is a tie
to my understanding, and then you can think that what is the point of playing
that kind of games.
Well in
reality, for that to happen the two players need to be with the equal skill
level but we all know that is rarity for that to happen, so the games can be
really interesting to watch if you like that kind of games of strategy.
In the aspect
of the narrative of the movie, I really like all the concept, and I can get
away that a kid could hack the government in that year, but I thought it was
too drastic of them to try to put him in jail with hardly any proof of him
being a spy, or maybe that’s my ignorance on how that stuff works, but yeah,
overall like I said I really liked the movie and I wished that I have seen it
earlier to understand all the references made in the book of Ready Player One,
and also other references made in various
programs that I watch, because after seen it I can see why is a culture movie
in regards of the geek culture.
