Hidden Figures
Hidden
Figures is a movie that talks about the persons who work hard to accomplish
their goals in life even though, that in their time the oppression for being
black was at his peak and how their struggle was real to make true their dreams.
It centralizes in three women, each one with her own talent, our main protagonist
Katherine, she is really good with the numbers, with her friends Mary and
Dorothy, the first black woman to study and graduate in a school for whites and
the other one was the first woman to be able to make the IBM work in the NASA. The
three work in the NASA making calculations by hand and calculator because in
that time, the computer barely made their debut.
I thought
this movie would have a lot of awkward or cringy moments because of the period
it was made and the focus being black people, but for my surprise, it did not
have such moments, I’m not saying that there were not scenes when they weren’t
treat right, but it was made in a way that you really felt how they felt in
that moment. My favorite moment of the movie was when Harrison finally realized
(He took so long to figured that out) that the reason why Katherine was absent
for so long, it was because of the stupid rule, or whatever it was, that the white
and black people needed to go to different restrooms, so he took action and
made his own call to get rid of that norm. I really like that character of Al,
that for him didn’t matter what color you were, he recognized the effort and the
results you throw at him.
I really
wanted to see this movie for a long time, but didn’t realized when it come out
here, and forgot it with the time. I enjoyed the movie for showing the people
that not many people talk abou,t but they were there and if not were for them,
we wouldn’t be were we are.
